After months of planning, renovations, meetings, painting, furniture assembly, countless hours of work, and a huge belief that together we can change children's healthcare, the day has come - we officially opened the completely renovated pediatric ward of MHAT – Elin Pelin
Today, with great excitement, we share with you the first "warm-warm" shots from the new #FireflyElin Wormwood, captured by our wonderful firefly photographer Joanna Nikolova
The opening of the completely transformed ward at Elin Pelin Hospital is another step towards our big dream of a complete ReDesign of children's healthcare, where "hospitals don't look like hospitals", the child patient is placed at the center of care, and the environment becomes part of the treatment.
The ward's patient rooms and common areas were renovated, new medical equipment and furnishings were delivered, new cabinet furniture was made, and the walls came alive with colors, drawings, and stories to reduce the fear and anxiety of the youngest patients.
We also thought about the parents, because we know that when a child is sick, the treatment goes through the whole family. That is why we created a more comfortable, calm and functional environment in which they can be with their child with more dignity and peace. The rooms have kitchenettes, sinks, beds and cabinets for parents and children.
We have not forgotten about the medical teams. Because we believe that quality care begins with conditions that allow doctors and nurses to work calmly, effectively and with even more humanity. Renovated common spaces, doctor's office, manipulation room, relaxation room.
And, of course, we created that space that is always the trademark of every Firefly project. #For Good Foundation – the children's corner. A place for play, creativity, smiles and a little normality in a period that is not at all easy for children and their families.
The greatest reward for us is always the children's eyes, smiles, curiosity and first games in the new space. They all remind us why every effort is worth it.
The truth is that without all of you – our followers, friends, partners, donors and volunteers – the Foundation #ForGood It was just a humble team of people with a big dream. Thanks to you, that dream now has a new address!
