Today is November 3, 2021, and the Children of Heroes Fund is awarding monthly scholarships to 25 children of doctors and educators who died in the pandemic.
The point of the numbers in this report is to call everyone to think about what is happening to our society: an unbearable amount of death that is pointless because it can be prevented.
The parents of the 25 children of the fund were doctors, nurses and teachers. The least of them is a 4-year-old boy.
16 children have lost a parent and teacher. These are the children of 13 teachers.
8 children have lost a doctor parent. These are the children of 5 doctors.
1 child has lost a parent nurse.
Some of these children lost both their medical parents. Two 5-year-old twin girls. Only their grandmother takes care of them.
To date, we have paid out 229 monthly scholarships of BGN 500 each - a total of BGN 114,500.
Mother and father do not compensate each other with money. Material support for children is gratitude and memory for their parents who became victims of the epidemic while fulfilling their duty to society. Now is the time for this same society to accept the facts, the pain and the losses and not allow this to happen again.
If we don't think about ourselves, let's think about our children. Think people! Don't believe the fake news and propaganda that denies the virus, prevention measures, vaccines. It is a hybrid war against life and society.
Let's not risk letting our children grow up without parents!
A year ago we didn't have that choice. Today we already have it.
