This is a story with the adventures of an ENT chair. Almost a year ago, the foundation visited the children's ENT department at Tsaritsa Ioana UMBAL to donate tablets to the children of our "Tale of Healing" campaign.
However, there, in addition to the wonderful and dedicated team, we also met a very old chair. A chair on which many frightened children have sat, but left with relief. This very old chair has seen and experienced a lot in its long life. Prof. Tsolov tells how a grateful father quickly reupholstered and patched it up, how the chair does not move up and down, as an ENT chair should, and it did not have the attachments and positions necessary for quality work.
Prof. Tsolov then also showed the lamp with which he looks during examinations. And it became clear to us that the chair and the lamp must now be retired.
Buying a lamp-head was easy, but with the chair things were not quite so.
We announced a campaign and you, dear donors, contributed BGN 2,200. We started looking for a chair, but we realized that it is not easy at all. The chair we liked was not available.
Then Denica, who lives in Germany, got involved. She and her partner Nikolai decided to support the cause with the chair by celebrating an important occasion with a donation. From their event they collected BGN 3060.
And so there was money, but no chair. Our collaborators on the topic of medical equipment also did not find a chair at a reasonable price, but for Denitsa, it is impossible! She contacted the children's ENT doctor, and then found a supplier whom she convinced to give us a discount and transport the chair from Brandenburg to Berlin, and from there to ISUL with the Bulgarian-German company GGBG.
During this time, however, we realized that we were about BGN 4,500 short. The hospital management provided the amount, and so we have a very special chair - a 45% funded by the hospital and a 55% funded by donations!
The amount paid for the chair is €4,760, and for transport BGN 430.
We thank all the donors, friends and relatives of Denitsa and Nikolay, everyone who made it possible for this chair to come to its place!
