The project "Firefly - a hospital that doesn't look like a hospital" was awarded the prestigious award BIG SEE Architecture Award 2025!
Today we write to you with excitement, gratitude, and pride that we can hardly describe in words... ❤️
Our project in Dobrich Hospital – a hospital that no longer looks like a hospital – has received the highest international recognition.

Winning this award is a huge honor, but also a confirmation that when you put your heart into something as important as children's healthcare, #good multiplies and paves the way for dozens of other positive emotions. The projects of the #Firefly wards are carriers of care, empathy and hope. They create the standard of pediatric care that all Bulgarian children deserve.
The ward in Dobrich is now a place where fear gives way to calmness and hope. The rooms are warm and cozy, inspired by the little patients. The space is functionally distributed according to the age of the children, with a corner for play, for adaptation, for rest. The medical staff has all the necessary amenities to work with dignity, without unnecessary stress. We have also thought about the parents, who get a breath of air in difficult moments, because they can be with their children in normal conditions.
The environment heals not only the body, but also the heart – both of the children and their loved ones.
The chief architect and designer of the project is architect Magdalena Slavova from Redox Interior Design. We thank her for her exceptional professionalism, dedication and attention to every detail!
The award is a high appreciation of the work of the team of the For Good Foundation and our partners on the path of #Firefly. We thank everyone who was part of this transformation – donors, volunteers, doctors, partners, Dobrich Municipality.
Thank you to the team at Dobrich Hospital – who expressed their firm willingness to be part of the new standard in children's healthcare, to do everything necessary, including renovating the office premises, and provided full cooperation – a true example of commitment and cooperation.
