The pediatrics department at MBAL - Botevgrad, which was completely renovated under the "Svetulka" project, was officially opened on 05.11.24.
The Municipality of Botevgrad invested BGN 350,000 in this renovation, and for us this is another dream come true! Let's go into a ward renovated by the municipality and bring in the ingredient "Firefly" so that it takes on the form you see in the pictures. BGN 163,000 was invested by the Foundation for Good, the majority of which was provided by our partners A1 Bulgaria.
The official opening was attended by representatives of A1 as the main donor of the project, the chairman of the "For Good" foundation - Nadezhda Rangelova, as well as other members of the non-governmental organization involved in the project. The event was also attended by the mayor of Botevgrad municipality Ivan Gavalyugov, the manager of MBAL - Botevgrad Dr. Dilyan Tomovski, and the head of the pediatric department Dr. Stoyna Petrova.
The Children's Department at MBAL - Botevgrad receives about 900 small patients annually, and thanks to the Svetulka project, pediatrics will now welcome them in a friendlier environment.
"It has been proven that children's health care requires a complex approach - quality care from doctors, modern equipment and treatment spaces close to the home environment. That is why we at the foundation are extremely happy to find like-minded people with whom we can create a supportive environment in a hospital that does not look like a hospital," added Nadezhda Rangelova - chairwoman and co-founder of the "For Good" foundation.
"We are proud that the combined efforts of the Municipality, the support of businesses and citizens led to the implementation of the "Svetulka" project, through which we renovated the children's ward in our hospital in the best possible way. I am happy that children from the region will receive the best health care, benefiting from modern treatment models, and parents will be able to focus on the emotional support of their children in this process", commented the Mayor of Botevgrad Municipality - Ivan Gavalyugov .
The department consists of eight renovated patient rooms with 16 hospital beds, intensive sector and manipulation rooms.
The waiting room, the reception office, the office premises have also been renovated, and an outdoor play area and a sun terrace have been provided for the children-patients.
Being able to play while being treated helps little patients get through their stay in the hospital environment more easily, which has a beneficial effect on their recovery. This also has a positive impact on the working environment for medics.
As part of the implementation of "Svetulka", changes were made to the original architectural design of the municipality, related to the functionality of the children's ward, so that the place provides maximum comfort for patients, their companions and medical staff.
