The first module of the Postgraduate Qualification in Therapeutic Communication in Pediatrics has been successfully completed!

The training took place on September 12 and 13 at the New Bulgarian University and brought together 30 scholarship holders from 6 cities in the country, who went through two stages of selection. Each of them is a holder of a scholarship provided by the For Good Foundation, and is trained completely free of charge.

The participants have different professional backgrounds – psychologists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, nurses. Each with different experience and years of experience in their profession. Specialists who work with children every day and understand how important not only medications are, but also words, attitude and trust.

Lecturers Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetlozar Vassilev and Dr. Maya Mladenova made sure that the program was inspiring, balanced between theory and practice, with many case studies, exercises, and meaningful discussions.

We share more footage from the training - with gratitude and excitement that we are laying the foundation for a change in the way we communicate with children and their families in a hospital environment.

We thank everyone who believes in the cause. Together we are building a sustainable foundation for changing attitudes and approaches in healthcare!
The training is part of the "Academy for Therapeutic Communication in Healthcare" initiative, created by the "For Good" Foundation in partnership with the Department of Health and Social Work of NBU.

The project began two years ago in partnership with the Bulgarian Children's Hospital "Prof. Dr. Ivan Mitev", with the first focus groups with healthcare professionals from the hospital. The program is based on discussions and information collected from hospitals and pediatric departments in different cities in the country, and is tailored to both the real needs and the specifics of the Bulgarian healthcare system.
