On May 22, 2025, the official ceremony of the prestigious international BIG SEE Architecture Awards took place in Portorož, Slovenia. We are proud and grateful to announce that the project "Firefly - a hospital that doesn't look like a hospital" at the Dobrich Hospital was awarded the award in the category "Hospitality - Architecture".

Recognition for architecture with heart

The award was presented personally to arch. Magdalena Slavova by Redox Interior Design – chief architect of the project and member of the team of the For Good Foundation. The distinction is more than recognition for good design – it is a reward for empathy, dedication and the belief that the environment can heal not only the body, but also the heart.

Why this award is important

The project in Dobrich is part of our larger mission – to create children's hospital wards that don't look like hospitals. Spaces inspired by the needs of children, where fear is replaced by a sense of security, play and hope. The BIG SEE Award affirms this vision on an international level.

We express our deep gratitude to:

  • architect Magi Slavova and her team – for their professionalism and attention to every detail.
  • America for Bulgaria and Esseterre Bulgaria – for the faith, trust and massive support from day one.
  • All donors, volunteers, and like-minded people – you make change possible.

The mission continues

Bulgaria is already on the world map of good design in healthcare. And we move forward with confidence that Mission is possible – to renovate every children's ward in the country.
