Why is the Firefly Project so important?

Firefly Project is a comprehensive initiative of the For Good Foundation, which transforms children's hospital wards in Bulgaria in an environment close to home. The goal is for children to feel safe, calm and cared for, and for medical staff to work under better conditions.

Firefly is not only a major overhaul, but also:
1. Functional transformation of premises
2. Creating a healing environment
3. Change in public attitudes

Each room in the renovated pediatric ward has a separate comfortable kitchenette, designed specifically for parents and caregivers of child patients. These areas are designed with the daily needs of families during their hospital stay in mind.

The kitchen nooks are equipped with a refrigerator, electric kettle for hot water and microwave ovenso that loved ones can calmly and comfortably store and prepare food on sitewithout having to leave the ward.

Creating this type of functionality is part of the overall philosophy of a project. "Firefly".

We renovate not only the children's rooms, but also the premises for the medical staff

Within a project "Firefly", The For Good Foundation renews not only children's hospital rooms, but also all rooms used by medical staff.

Our approach is holistic – we believe that high-quality care for children begins with caring for the people who are next to them every day. That is why with every transformation of a children's ward, we are also renovating doctors' rooms, nursing rooms, treatment rooms, bathrooms and rest areas.

The update includes:

  • Modern interior and functional furniture
  • Better workspace organization
  • Comfortable and clean environment, meeting modern medical standards

Our goal is clear: to provide better working conditions for doctors and nursesso that they can focus entirely on what is most important – treating and caring for the children.

🔹 A better hospital environment for staff also means more motivated teams, more efficient work and higher quality of medical care.

Project "Firefly" not just repairs, but builds an environment in which children, parents and medical teams feel safe, supported and respected.
